Founded in 1966, SOS has delivered meals, friendly visits, and referral services to homebound seniors in Alameda County for 60 years, with services in Oakland, Hayward, San Leandro, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Fremont, Newark, and Union City. Last year, we delivered more than 520,000 meals to nearly 3,000 older neighbors. We are a direct service provider that prepares all of our own meals in our 3,630 square foot commercial kitchen. We are one of the largest and most trusted Meals on Wheels programs in Northern California.
SOS Meals on Wheels, Western Alameda County has partnered with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services) to process real estate donations to benefit SOS Meals on Wheels, Western Alameda County. Our program takes any property type (land, homes, commercial) in any location so long as there is equity. Even if you owe back taxes, have a mortgage balance, or deferred maintenance, it's no problem. We will pay off all loans, liens, commissions owed and pay all closing costs. If you have a real estate asset that is costing you money or not being utilized, donating it is a great way to give back and you may even claim a significant tax deduction!
